We met in bed... eh, actually it was the Bedding Industry.

This was only my second "real" business meeting at what turned into a 10 year corporate gig with Fortune 500 Company, Leggett & Platt. I was traveling all over the US, 70% of my time for the role, and this meeting was in Boston, MA. I was one of maybe 2 females in that meeting of 60. Surrounded by males, staring at my little black dress, and (fighting) over who was going to sit next to me.
. . .
I really thought in the corporate world, men would have grown up by now, but they hadn't. Just like the little boy, Luke, in my kindergarten class; he chased me every recess and I was just like "ewwww, get away from me already"!
. . .
There was one guy in a blue suit at that meeting that payed 0% attention to me. He was busy working the crowd with his motivation and team building. I could see his presence carried a weight of respect among his male peers. Like I said, he paid 0% attention to me - he had no idea he would be my future #herohubs.
. . .
I had a late night prior to the meeting. It had been my first night to ever visit Boston and it was all I dreamed it would be! (link to favorite hotel in Boston) #sleepinfluencer Of course, I maximized the fun by visiting all the famous destinations by Quincy Market. (future blog with details of where to visit)

The people had funny accents and lots of dark hair. With all the big personalities, I had to find my own way through the conversation. I was just a 26 year old “girl” from the Midwest and forcing my way into a conversation then going back to my roots and realizing it's not polite to dismiss myself from that same LONG conversation. Those North-easterners talk! The question in my head was, “When will the role of toilet paper stop spinning out of their mouth?” (There were lots of words my Mother would not approve of.) I‘ve found North-easterners are in a league of their own, and I’ve come to respect that. I’m still a girl from the Midwest.
His killer good looks, wit and charm was no tall challenge for my short stature. I valiantly snagged his attention at this mattress business meeting in Massachusetts. I confidently approached him following the meeting and threw my hand out with my strong handshake; I looked him right in the eye and said, ”I’m Della Emory.. nice to meet you.“
His circle of peers were speechless! Here is this shy, yet stunning 🤗 girl walking right up and forcing into our conversation and stealing his attention (remeber he paid zero attention to me previously). Brian’s response ”How do I know you? ...
You’re from Missouri, where is that? ...
I know you, I’ve seen you in my dreams.“
...
I promise, that was not a pick up line. HE genuinely was confused.
