Sleeping Over a Lake Weekend

Magic...the term I use for how a body of water can relax me. Lake, ocean, river, hot tub.

An instant cloud of unnecessary “doing” goes away when I am near open water. We spent the weekend at Beaver Lake and it was just that “magic” I needed to recoup-erase a long week of “doing”.

Waking up to crisp air, sun rising over the tree tops and #sleepingbeauty saying she wants to snuggle on my "fat lap" - no better way to transcend to this world of "doing" nothing.

#herohubs packed the bikes. We explored War Eagle Marina (2 minutes from the house) and Hobbs State Park (30 minutes from the house). Adventure is my side hustle and bonus was a couple of friends joined us! All the tree pollen tried to get the best of us, so beer was chosen as THE remedy for me. C'mon, it was either beer or allergy meds - no point to ruining "the magic" with drowsy allergy meds.

A happy accident of unbearable dog poo stench appeared all over #sleepingbeauty. She had been crab crawling in the sandy beach and dug right into poo without any of us knowing it. Her little mouth uttered casually,

"I smell like shits"

and that little accident was the highlight of our adventure!

3 bedrooms, 2 ba and an open floor plan. The infinity deck onto the lake was perfect for watching the sunset and fishing right from the bank. The swing set was perfect for our #sleepingbeauty to wear herself down for the day.

The mattress in the Master was a Tempurpedic. What a grand investment for a VRBO lake house! With years of my career in the Bedding Industry #encouragewomenbiz , I personally have never been a fan of Temurpedic simply because I do not like the feel of an all foam bed. Give me traditional innerspring support any day, like this bed #handcraftedsleep. The other bedrooms offered a soft mattress and a firm mattress. One bed was missing proper center support, which caused a “roll to the center effect”. All that is needed in this scenario is a center support leg or block be placed under the center of the bed, to give it proper center support.

(product here.) Minus the "roll to the center issue" that mattress would have been my favorite in the whole house and feels much like the bed linked here.

Honestly, I could have slept in this hammock both nights! My favorite accessory on any adventure is a good hammock and this little lake house had one!

We stopped at the Holler in #bentonville on our way home. It was a perfect ending for cardamon latte and exploring all the little nooks of the place.

Water makes me feel like magic, but my family... they are my superpower! (the latte's help too)
